Responsibilities as the Associate Dean
of Graduate Studies

  • Oversee the Graduate Programs in the School of Education
  • Prepare the projections and the budget of the graduate programs for the SOE/Chicago Campus for the Dean of the School of Education
  • Collaborate with Graduate Admission in Communicating policies, procedures, recruitment activities, and other admission processes
  • Collaborate with the Office of the Records and Registrar in affairs related to the School of Education graduate students
  • Audit files of all graduate, except MATL, students for Graduation
  • Serve as Advisor to all the cohort students at the Chicago Campus
  • Collaborate with the Director of Off Campus Programs in developing cohort schedules and other cohort related affairs
  • Collaborate with the Director of Teacher Education in relation to certification requirements for graduate students
  • Collaborate with the Associate Dean and Coordinator of Accreditation in relation to the schedule of graduate programs
  • Oversee and correspond with graduate students in relation to the policies related to graduate programs
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of the data base related to graduate students of the School of Education
  • Review files of all graduate students applying to a graduate program in the School of Education
  • Review and when necessary revise the School of Education section of the catalog on an annual basis
  • Prepare and update the Graduate Studies Handbook
  • Oversee the School of Education web-site pages related to the graduate and undergraduate programs
  • Conduct the Open House for the graduate programs in the School of Education in fall
